CCA Summer Camp 2026

Saturday, July 25 through Friday, July 31 at River Bone Ranch in Kempner, Texas.

A week to camp, learn, serve, and lead

Summer Camp gives Cadets the time and space to practice the patrol method outdoors. Activities are organized around weather, safety, staffing, and the needs of participating Cadets.

River Bone Ranch is located approximately one hour north of Austin, directly on the Lampasas River in Kempner, Texas, near the 5 Hills Cowboy Church.

What to expect

  • Patrol camping and shared camp responsibilities
  • Outdoor skills and advancement practice
  • Camp cooking, cleanup, and campsite care
  • Hiking, nature, fishing, and other activities as conditions permit
  • Service, teamwork, games, and leadership opportunities

Specific times and detailed instructions are supplied directly to registered families.

What families need to do

  1. Contact CCA and confirm that space is available.
  2. If this is the camper’s first time, arrange for an adult chaperone to attend with him.
  3. Complete the required permission slip and medical form.
  4. On the PayPal payment page, select Cadet Scouts, Summer Camp from the drop-down box.
  5. Pay $260 per youth and $160 per adult.
  6. Follow the packing, arrival, and departure instructions sent by CCA.

Private camp information

River Bone Ranch is private property and the program involves minors. The public website does not post the street address, youth roster, campsite assignments, private telephone numbers, or detailed emergency procedures. Participating families receive the information they need directly.

Basic preparation

Bring only the gear listed in the official camp instructions. Every Cadet should expect to use the buddy system, drink water, protect himself from heat and weather, follow tool and fire rules, stay with his patrol, and speak up immediately when something feels unsafe.
